How do i make hides into leather?
I went to the crafting guy but no scrolls work.

How do i go mining??

To process hides into leather you need to choose Tanner profession. You can do it in the Imperial City after you reach level5.
Similar, after level 5 you can choose to become a miner instead. This will allow you to go mining.
But you have to decide which one you want to be, can't be both at the same time.

Faq's are nice but dont help me,
problem is they dont tell you HOW to do it.

also  how do i restart the tutorial, there doesnt seem to be
any kind of link to it that i can see...

Oh, I see 
If you're Tanner and you have some hides in the inventory:
1. Click on the Crafting (menu on the left)
2. Click on the Tanner Tab above
3. Select Tier1 and click on the Light Leather
4. Drag the slider to select how many hides you want to process and click on "Craft" button
