miner vs stonecutter

It has been brought to my attention by a fantastic, beautiful woman that a miner can mine stones, convert them to gems.  At present, a stonecutter can only convert the stones to gems.

My question is what is the point of being a stonecutter?

I don't know what the fantastic woman has told you, but here is the deal:

1. Miner can only MINE gemstones, he cannot process them.
2. Stonecutter can only PROCESS the gemstones into gems, but cannot mine them.

If we had made the stonecutter to mine the gemstones as well, the jewelers would gain too much advantage over other professions and they would be millionaires before a month passes...

I have no idea who this fantastic beautiful woman is ( :D); but I think there's a bug then...

cause I'm a jeweller-miner now and I just mined an opal AND converted the opal to a gem!  :)

Hiske changed the proffesion from stonecutter into miner. So she probably remained with stonecutter abilites ;D

a miner can only mine, he cant convert squad  ;D I am a miner and I can tell you I only mine stones, ore and coal and make ingots, that's it !

I have come to the conclusion that I get no breaks.  I´m ugly, fat, bald and dumb and i can´t mine anything, only cut farts and such and the nice looking women get all the breaks.

Come on Oton, sympathize with an idiot over hear and let me mine a bit as a stonecutter, just a little, please, please, please????
