Questions / Re: stars and enemy types
« on: August 15, 2009, 04:10:02 PM »
thanx for the answers :-)

Is this the way it will remain when the beta version finishes or will the bonus raise any, just seems that by completing a few missions early on you can accumulate the maximum bonus in certain area's very quickly, 8% is not a great deal, maybe 20% would be nice lol

Questions / stars and enemy types
« on: August 14, 2009, 07:07:09 PM »
Is it the case that the most amount of a certain type of enemy you can register as kills is 400 and the most stars you can accumulate is 3 for a specific animal type??? I have 400 wolves killed and have 3 stars for it but no matter how many more i kill it doesnt seem to rise above 400??

Is this it are the levels dependant on the tier of the player??

nah bears are scared of my hugely talented warrior and obviously run like hell when he's around, thats my story and im sticking to it!  ;), so I guess im gonna have to buy the 1000 diamonds just to find a damn bear am I?  ;D, whats the thoughts on the earlier suggestion, soem kind of skill like 'tracking' where you can improve your chances of looking for a specific animal, the higher your skill in that area the better the odds of finding what you specify your looking for?

every other IO game has a simple begginers guide as to what to build and how things function, i understand the appeal of finding things out for yourself but a ickle nudge in the right direction is always a nice start, concidering every 'mistake' you make is an action point lost then to get started with a little advice without having to ask specific questions that someone may know if they are on line at that time and if theyre prepared to answer etc.....you see the point?

I know there is the guide at the beggining and that does help, either way the game looks great fun :-)

cheers guys :-), how about someone in the know, an experienced player (lol I know its a relative term as the games pretty new) post an advice to begginers instructional/advice page, so the noobies amongst us can benefit from their vast experiance and not get frustrated right at the start :-)

Suggestions / searching for a specific kind of animal
« on: August 06, 2009, 12:44:52 PM »
As stated in other posts im relatively new (today), im on the first mission and currently searching for bears in acorn wood, not surprisingly now that its baers i want i can only find bloody wolves lol

How about a way to search for a specific kind of creature and a way of improving your skill at searching for that animal, i think this would help at all levels of the game as im sure quests further on still require you to find x amount of hides or similar, all im doing at the moment is using up my (exhaustible)  supply of action points searching for what appears to be a non existant animal!! if this is what its like on the first damn quest then i can see it becoming a bit frustrating later in the game. "find 50 of thiese animals and oh by the way only 1 in 100 kills will be the type your after??" lol

your thoughts??

I only just started playing today so fall into that 'noobi' status refferred to, I can see the logic to both sides, the original point was that for killing an animal (whatever kind) you gain the starts to show your adept at killing that type because youve obviously killed so many before to get the starts and hence gain the 2% bonus. It makes absolute sence that because you are so adept at killing that type of animal you would know its weak spot and hence deliver a killing blow that would enable you to kill the creature without damaging the hide allowing you to skin it and recover it (as in item drop) there are plus points to both sides but in the main the original point makes absolute sence to me :-)

first day playing this, i understand the need to test yourself and gain confidence in the game etc, but out of curiosity where are the game rules??? example there are blacked out areas at the beggining of the game, I assume this because i need to reach a certain level to unlock them?? where in the game does it tell me this and other gems i may like to know :-)
