Your effort to save money is what killed you.
You cannot fight with a merc that was not paid to fight the previous round. Basically, if you don't pay for them to be there, they leave you and wait for you outside the dungeon - you continue on to the next round and they are no longer with you. If you want to have your mercs with you for round 5, you must pay their wages and fight with them for rounds 1~4 also.

Chevalier, your description of gathering hides fails to include several factors....
Fighting animals for hides may result in 0 hides, you and your mercs may take damage that needs healing, and your equipment takes damage that needs to be repaired, which costs you gold. When you fight animals for hides, you rarely get other items dropped that are of any real value (for example, no weapons are dropped that can be sold at the stores for profit)

Currently, in tier 2, Ash wood is worth about 300 gold each, tin ore is 400 gold each, 1 raw sapphire is almost 8000 gold,......but a medium hide is worth only 100 gold.

Hides may be slightly easier to harvest, but I would not say that they are more profitable. I actually think, ALL things considered, all professions can be equally profitable (depending upon the individual player).

Bugs / Dual-wield compare at auction

When comparing a weapon to the dual-wield weapons on my merc, only 1 appears in the pop-up for comparison. This makes it very difficult to compare new and old weapons.
This is not the case for rings, because both worn rings are shown for comparison.

The screengrabs show what I mean....

I suppose they only have a tier number cause everything else in the game has.

I think this is true. I have regularly bought whichever tool was available in my local store, regardless of what tier it was, and the all worked the same for me (tiers 2,3,4). I averaged the same results throughout.

You have lots of questions!
Many of your questions will be answered as you experiment with your mercs, but to save you some time and gold, here is some help:

  • Yes, items will bind to your merc, and will remain bound even after they are dismissed. The binding only happens after the first battle
  • The wage isn't hourly, it's per job. When your merc fights, you pay. If you merc stays outside the dungeon and doesn't fight, he/she will remain your employee for free. If you are raided in a dangerous province, ALL your mercs will help you fight. I'm not sure if you need to pay them wages for this situation.....
  • The gold must be in your pocket in order for the merc to fight with you in a dungeon. If you tell a merc to fight and you don't have the gold, you will enter the battle alone (and probably die). They will sit beside the battlefield and laugh at your rotting corpse. Many times, I requested my mercs to fight with me and didn't notice that I had too little gold to pay their wages. The bastards let me die.
  • The armour will remain bound to that that merc forever (just like the stuff bound to your fighter). Once that merc is dismissed, that merc will never be available again and all the equipment will be junk. I suggest you think carefully before you dismiss your merc.

You must reach 100 points in crafting Tier1 to unlock Tier2 crafting. Once you unlock Tier2, you must buy/find and learn recipes for Tier2. Only then can you craft Tier2 items. No recipes are needed to craft Tier2 resources though.

I suggest you read this section of the FAQ that discusses Crafting.

I think that you are wrong, Geomaticus...  :D
I have a yellow tool and has 45 durability, i craft over 20 armors and over 60 raw materials, and it is not drop a point...
Rare and legendary tools are lose durability only when they craft rare, legendary and epic items... you do not have to remove it each time you craft something that it has no chance to be rare+...

You are correct. My crafting luck has been so good that I forgot that the hammer doesn't go down any other time!  :D

Hey I wanted  to ask about its durability after crafting how many items does its durability reaches 0.

Each crafting reduces the durability by 1. Regardless of what you craft (armour or a piece of leather), the deduction is still 1.
If you craft 20 leathers, it will reduce the durability by 20, so I suggest you pay close attention to which tool you are useing so that you don't accidently use up your hammer crafting leathers (if you didn't want to).

Suggestions / Opponent names - different

I suggest that the opponents that are generated for each battle in a dungeon be given unique names - not unique for EVERY battle in the game, but something like Wolf 1 and Wolf 2 etc....

The current system makes it difficult to identify who was attacked or is attacking during each turn, when reading the full battle report. Each Lion in the report below has different attributes, but I cannot tell which one I am attacking or which one is hitting me. Simply add a number to the name and it clears everything up.

This may be a merciful win, but the graphic report does not match the text report. The text says that two Lions were killed, but the graphic shows that the second lion has half his HP remaining. They should match.

In the Skills screen, you can see the various skills available to be learned. After lvl 15, if you have chosen the path 'Night Stalker', you will see the additional skills for other weapon types
(javellin, throwing knives etc). Below them, is the skill for Dual Wield - click on the picture. You will see the description that states that you must learn all the other weapon skill to the maximum lvl 7 in order to learn dual wield.

I would like to comment on the cost of guild expansion. I think the cost of expanding guilds (storage or administration) should be in Gold only, not diamonds. Right now, my guild has enough gold to expand, but diamonds are way to expensive to spend on expanding a guild, so our members aren't going to donate them to the guild treasury.

That's my opinion on that....

That is correct. If your mercs do not accompany you to battle in the first level (for whatever reason), then they are not available for any further battles in that dungeon. Your only option would be to exit the dungeon after winning that first battle, and re-enter the dungeon with your mercs, win the battle and then continue from there. That will cost you an extra action point, but it might be enough to help you complete the dungeon and finish a quest!
