And again.... is wasted big amount of spirit..... with 2 invested points in Darkness Curse, in tier 3, you even can't have this opportunity to curse 3th time..... because of low spirit....
The cost of spirit per enemy is:
If there is only one enemy:
Level 1: 100 points
Level 2: 200 points
Level 3: 300 points
If there are five enemies:
Level 1: 100 points
Level 2: 40 - 200 points (depends on the success chance)
Level 3: 60 points
But there are much worse spells. Look at the
description of Mystical Whirlwind:
Allows the Mystic to hit more than one opponent in one
round. The Whirlwind is performed only if there are more
than 2 opponents, after the first hit. It inflicts equal
to 40% of the weapon's damage. Only works with staffs.

When I choose this skill, I thought the first enemy is hit
by 100% and the remaining by 40% and the spirit costs
are once per fight. But then I had to recognize, that
all hits are only 40% and the spirit costs are for each
round. So, with level 1 your total damage is only 80% of
the damage without the skill. With level 3 your damage
is 160% but because the enemy lives longer the result is
still negative.
I suppose this unclear descriptions are on purpose because
when you recognize the actual behavior, you have to spend
15 diamonds to rearrange your skills. And because I don't
use diamonds (that's cheating), I have to live with bad
decisions made because of bad documentation.
I think Imperial Hero never leaved the beta stage. If
you want to play a real nice game, look at the 10 year
old Heroes of Might and Magic IV (not the newer V or VI).
