General Talk / Re: Getting over the top.
« on: December 05, 2009, 09:07:19 AM »
All you mentioned above is true. The problem is that a tanner raises his level too quickly and thus he becomes tier 2 with shortage of light skins. Therefore we have to look for the solution that slows the pace of hero development. I think I found one - to hire a merc. Hiring a merc gives the player enouph time and AP to get 100 or more light skins. If you want to stay longer in tier 1 hire more than one merc. It's your choice.

That is quite smart, however, the fastest way to get rid of the issue is by reverting to allowing all heros to get hides, tanners with higher chance and only tanners can process hides.
This way at least the demand for raw hides won't be as bad.

Bugs / Re: Red Ball Issue
« on: December 03, 2009, 03:04:29 AM »
Ok, guys.

From now on, I'd like to ask you, when you accept a Storyline quest, and you reach the step where the reward looks like a red ball, do NOT complete it!
I mean, do the task,  but don't go to tavern to complete it.
Post it in here or send me a PM like:

"Alpha/Beta *Nickname* - *name of the Storyline quest* step / - red ball"

Because completing the step, you'll take nothing but a red ball :X

Alpha/Beta, I have no idea. Nickname: Gunther. Hope village - Into the Darkness/got a red ball

Bugs / Re: what is this?

Is the 'ball' by any chance red and kinda rare-item-blue glowing? Can't see the image.

If it is, PLEASE FIX IT~
I have one of those 'balls' as well. But I got it from finishing Tier 1 story line quest Into the Darkness.
I was at the multistage and got to the last stage, then I logged out due to lack of APs, came back on the next day (normally there is the '(/)' sign but it wasnt there) and butchered the mobs. BUT I didn't get teleported back to the town like normally or when you die. I had to click on 'Go to Town'.
Collected the prize...

and it was a RED BALL! :o

what happened to the shiny armor prize...? *xxx*

Heroes / Re: Stalker Rangers Q
« on: December 02, 2009, 03:15:42 PM »
Here's a tip that I used and suggested to a few of my friends. You are now lvl 11 and have probably already put in enough skill points into the 5 default skill types and each new point you get from now until lvl 15 will probably applied to something that is not needed (eg. I already filled up my critical hit skill bonus so I should put the point into something else....). Don't use them. Save them until you reach lvl 15, then when you pick a path, you won't have the standard 1 point to apply to the new cool skills, you will have 3 or 4 or 5. It might be more useful for you to put those points directly into a weapon specialization rather than poison or herbalist stuff. That's up to you.

Hope that helps.

Yes, that was what I was thinking as well! The part about lvl 14 is very very helpful, many many thanks. Perfect too, I have no intention of wasting diamonds, heheh...

You can very well see what each skill does if you move the mouse over it. If you need clarification about something particular, then ask specifically.

How do I do that if I have not specialized yet? I want to know what skills are given for each path and EXACTLY what they do so I can weigh between the two choices to avoid the scenario where I click on (eg.) stalker because it sounds cool and then realize that it does not benefit me at all as I use a bow.

So, can you clearly state which path is better for (eg.) people who rely on merc and those that don't and based on their weapons or the characteristics of the specialization.

Define 'characteristics': (eg.) stalker, with armour-ignore and two skills dedicated to critical hit, is similar to an assassin.

Questions / Re: Follow Hero

If thats the case,
It mentioned somewhere that you can fight together with other heros at multistage dungeons.
That you can TEAM-UP with other heros against mobs.

How then, do you do that?

So if you're at the town of Faloni province, can heros attack you there? Or is it only at the dungeons?

Equipment / Re: GEMMED ITEMS Q!
« on: November 28, 2009, 08:46:38 AM »
  • Gemmed items like emerald chainmail or opal gloves are created from recipes made specifically for emerald chainmail or opal gloves. You cannot add a gem to an item after it is crafted. You can find these recipes as dropped items or buy them in the auction. You will not find them in the NPC Recipe stores.
  • If you have seen someone using them, they were probably crafted by someone (maybe themselves!). It is possible that they were bought from an NPC Shop but doubtful (the shops are very expensive).
  • You can buy any items from the auction -the auction does not change regardless of your location. The store in each province is different so it is possible that a nice item will be available at the NPC Shop you are in. If there isn't anything you like today, it will be different tomorrow.

There are a few ways to get gems.
  • dig them out of the ground (if you are a stonecutter).
  • buy them from the auction $$
  • ask a guildmate to give/sell you one. That might be cheaper than buying on the auction, but you may have to give your guildmate something in return as payment

Hope that helps!

That was UBER-helpful. If all the replies were as coherent as this one, it would make the readers' lives so much easier as well as the poster. Many thanks!

I suggest you be more careful.
Multi-posts can get you banned. It could be considerred spamming.

I'll keep that in mind.

Questions / What does the 'Follow Hero' do?
« on: November 28, 2009, 08:39:42 AM »
What does the 'Follow Hero' do? If I follow e.g. Atys, he goes to Hope, my hero doesn't automatically go to Hope right?
If Gunther and Atys are in Hope, Atys goes to the multistage dungeon. Does gunther, who is following Atys, automatically appear in the multistage dungeon with atys?

Questions / Re: Sapphire recipes
« on: November 26, 2009, 08:04:07 PM »
you can buy them from the market, take them from your guilds stash(if anyone puts some) or you can find them as a loot when killing some monsters

So you can't buy them from NPC shops?

HOPE VILLAGE - Kill Rolon's bro.

I recently finished the storyline quest in Hope village. I talked to the Tavern guy, I finish up the last quest  . I look in my inventory and find...

A RED BLOB!

and it's only worth 1 gold...
~wtf~

Where did that shiny bronze shirt prize go?! I demand my bronze chainmail shirt!

oh, my account is Gunther, help me fix that bug   !
Many thanks!

Maybe bugged people should get a lvl 19 rare weapon (an agate axe) as consolidation...
