I am just in the process of purchasing a Warrior Merc.....

How can I tell if he can carry 2 weapons ??

It's simple...

he cant...

as far as i know, you or anybody need the mastery on every weapon to be aible to use Dual weapons. and most of mercs don't have every Skill points added.

And there was me thinking that at level 15, the difference between the 2 paths is that 1 can carry the "big fella" shields and the other can carry 2 weapons (I mean 2 x 1 handed weapons)......

No :) After level 15, guardian can carry shields, but dual wield is available (If you have distributed all needed points) earliest after level 40.
