How does it work exactly?

And now I am quite sure it doesn't work anymore....

Every time a hero craft something his/her crafting experience is updated.
It is calculated based on a formula, taking into account every crafting point for every tier for both the primary and secondary professions.

but when you do an epic item or an item after you have 400 CP in one tier you don't get any crafting experience :-\

@radooo: yes, currently the crafting experience has it's top limit.

The maximum crafting experience is 59500 points, which you get if you have 400 CP for each Tier for both professions (with the exception of 300 CP for Primary profession Tier 1 ).

so epic items don't give any crafting experience. So it's better and easier to do 200 CP in all tiers than to work a lot to do 400 CP in one tier...speaking from the point of view of crafting experience
