It is an old bug, but I haven't found it in this section. So, here are the steps:
1. Go to a dungeon with animals.
2. Attack and see that some hides are ready to be skinned.
3. Attack again until no hides are received as a loot.
4. Notice that the hides icon disappears(or a red cross appears instead of the hide).
5. If you "skin animals" then no hides will be received.
6. Attack again and notice that the hides icon reappears (when the killed animals give hides).
