change profession

will the story line change if i change my profession. like, i have to collect 17 stone.. will it change to 17 ores if i change my profession to miner? if somebody changes profession after being asked to complete the quest related to the previous quest what should he do (if the quest does not change)?

If you have accepted the step then it will not change what it's need to be completed. But if you have accepted the story line and before you accept a crafting/gathering quest (press complete to the previous step) then the game will set the mission request with your new professions abilities.
