BIGPOINT
« on: February 20, 2013, 02:24:13 PM »
Seems BIGPOINT has removed Imperial Hero which means,
BIGPOINT users can't login into IH anymore. A direct login
on http://www.imperialhero.org also isn't possible because
the password BIGPOINT used is unknown to the user and
you can't use the function "Lost password" because
BIGPOINT didn't use the user email address for registration.
Is there a way to get or change the password or is
this the end of world 4.

That is the official document that puts an end to our cooperation with Bigpoint. Here it is:

Ok, but is there any way to get access to the accounts created by
BIGPOINT users? I'm in emal contact with BIGPOINT, but they are
not willing to give any help. The only thing BIGPOINT users know,
is the user name. The password and email-address was provided
by BIGPOINT.  I understand, that in this situation it is hard for
imperialonline to do anything, because otherwise there is the risk,
that any account could be  hijacked. Seems I was the last active
BIGPOINT player.

For other BIGPOINT users who can't access IH anymore:

I have found an other browser game which seems to be interesting.
Beta-test will start soon:

http://en.heroes-online.com/
http://blog.heroes-online.com/

Or an older one:

Hi, again ErikaFade,

Well, we even can't log you in actually. As clients of Bigpoint, your accounts/passwords/emails etc are only known by Bigpoint.
The only thing we can advise you to do is just log in again in the game as e new user at http://www.imperialhero.org/game/homepage.php?lang=en
Unfortunately there is nothing more we can do about it. Thank you for the interest in Imperial Hero and we are wishing you and all IH fans form Bigpoint all the best.

Actually I believe that you could contact Bigpoint in order to gain access back to your account!

And after centuries I managed to solve the mistery of realm 4...

As for the post about having you "advertising" other games is... barely legal... but since Johnnie didn't reacted I will not as well.
I will have to add that Chegewara an honorable member of this forum when the game was at its first steps (back at 2009) he was also playing ubishoft's Mights and Magic: Heroes Kingdoms... So if you are playing that you may seek for him :P

I suppose, you don't read this forum on a regular basis:

... If you use http://www.bigpoint.com to register Imperial Hero
... you should play in realm 4. But there are nearly no active players
... in realm 4.

Maybe you don't understand the difference between "information" and
"advertising"? The only rule violation you can claim is:

 1.2. It is forbidden:
      -
      - To post links to illegal software;
      -

but only if any browser game which is not from Imperial Online is illegal.

Actually I believe that you could contact Bigpoint in order to gain access back to your account!

I already had a long mail exchange with BIGPOINT, there is no chance. And now
I already started with the above mentioned game. Don't know how long I will
play it, because if the user messages in the forum are correct, you will not
survive a long time in this game if you don't spend a lot of real money for a
competitive equipment.

During August I was on vacations...  *BEACH*
So no... I didn't read that post!
As for the other...

New Forum – new rules:

1. Topics and posts:

•   1.2. It is forbidden:

      - Spamming, flooding and going offtopic;
      - To advertise;

5. Penalties:

•  5.1. Consequences of breaking Forum rules:
      - We can restrict your access to your forum profile;
      - We can restrict your forum functions;
      - We can restrict your forum access for indefinite amount of time;
      - We can restrict your game access for indefinite amount of time;

Administrators and moderators of the forum reserve the right to delete individual users, messages or topics without notice or justification.

giving link to another game can be consider advertisement... as I said...

As for the real issue here... Can you feed my curiosity and say why they claim they can't give you access to your passwords?

I don't know whether they can or not. But if the software is well
designed, there shouldn't be an user interface for the administrators
to get the passwords. But independent from whether they can or not,
they have no interest in doing so. They don't earn money from this
game anymore, so why should they transfer users to IH when on
the other side, not even information about other games are
welcome in the IH forum?

Information for other games is welcome! And as you can see there are several games referred both single player and MMOs at proper section (PC and other Games, a sub forum I am responsible for it's creation...). But it is barely "legal" according to rules to post links for the sites of these games! You can say "hey! look at this awesome game I found! It's called SomethingIlike!"
But according to the way I (and believe the most of us) interpret the rules is barely legal to post direct links... Pretty much red tape here...

Anyway this is off-topic and I believe I made clear my point and I don't see any other reason to continue talking on the "side-issue".
I am not locking the topic in case that you want to add anything (for the main issue) or another user is encountering the same issue.

If you want to debate for games or for what rules allow and what not please open another topic.
Thank you.
