Logic of the Mercenaries in Imperial Hero

Mercenaries in Imperial Hero are considered as “Almost heroes”

Of course, they have some special features which should be mentioned.

 - Mercenaries are generated with certain amount of redistributed skill points, which are limited to the tier in which the relevant mercenary is. Which means – a mercenary of Tier 3 cannot possess skills of Tier 4.
 - Heroes can increase the Tier of their mercenaries, but the increased tier will not add new skills to those which the mercenary was hired with.
 - Mercenaries can increase their level, and for each level up they get 5 Attribute Points, as well as heroes. Their attribute points are allocated completely automatically, i.e. - the hero cannot distribute them as he wants.

 - Each mercenary has a coefficient to one of its attributes, which multiplies the attribute point given to the mercenary when it levels up. How to know which attribute is with coefficient?

When you select a mercenary in the Tavern with your mouse, the system displays all Mercenary's attributes as well as skills.

What does that mean?

In this case we see that mercenary’s Vitality is 3 times more than the rest of its attributes. This means that whenever this mercenary levels up, it will receive 3 times more Vitality points than the other attributes.

Thus, when this Mercenary levels up, its new attributes will be:

Strength: 7
Vitality: 21
Agility: 7
Dexterity: 7
Intelligence: 7

- Mercenaries also have minimal requirements for Strength, to be able to equip certain armor.
 - Mercenaries can specialize the same way as heroes, with the specialization automatically given to a merc which is Tier 3 and above.

Always look at the basic attributes/skills  of the mercenaries in the Tavern, and make sure you’ll chose the mercenary, which will have the necessary Strength to equip the appropriate items, and if the mercenary has the right combination of skills to be effective in a fight!

In addition to the logic:

Though the mercenaries do not receive a 1,5 attribute bonus per bonus point to their native attributes, when they level up, if you equip them with items that grants bonuses to the mercs' native attribute, those bonuses will be x1,5.

Example:

If you have a Warrior mercenary and you equip him with a +10 Strength sword, this sword will, in fact, grant 15 Strength bonus to the merc (10x1,5=15).

 - The hero can choose which of his mercs to participate in battle at any given time, by clicking the respective button, located at the upper left corner of the merc's paper doll.
 - The hero can have up to 6 mercs, but he can command as many as his "Mercenary Commander" skill allows him to.
 - The hero can upgrade his mercs' Tier, but only if he has achieved the respective Tier, with the merc mandatory being the necessary level. Meaning - if you are level 49 and your merc is level 50, he is not Tier 6 yet. You have to achieve level 50 and then you will be able to upgrade your merc to Tier 6.
 - The hero can heal his mercs in Healers if the Healers' Tier is equal or above their Tier.
 - Mercs also fall into the low-high levels rule for equipping items in certain Tier the same way heroes do.
