After the last bout of changes sapphires have disappeared from all level 2 dungeons (at least on the tialian server).

I have several recipes requiring them but no way to get them digging, it seem strange that a resources required for a tier of recipes is not available in the mines of that tier.

Seeing how there are no tier one gems, it seem improbable.

Maybe you mean tier 2, but not having any real information in game/forum about the chances and seeing the results so far, I doubt it is working.
I know somewhere in the changes notes it is written that you have a chance to get one of the special gems as a drop, based on how you set the slider, but then it was changed as it modify the chance of successfully mine the regular gems.

So again, we have no real, up to date, informations from one of the developers on how it work.

tier 1 gems are opal, agate, emerald, topaz and moonstone
tier 2 is sapphire
tier 3 is ruby
tier 4 is pearl
tier 5 is obsidian

Even if you can not find them in tier 1 province they are tier 1 gems.

And I can assure you that you can get sapphire as a bonus. I received one in most occasions. There were rare before and now it is the same.

Not to forget, you can kill other and steal some gems, I got even obsidian.

8% chance before the changes (from my tries) 0% now so far.  it can be bad luck, but your "I received one in most occasions" don't ring right with my numbers so far.

End it will probably become worse if the slider will be stopped when you reach 100% of mining something as it is written in the changes for the 28th.
