Two-handed sword skill for Guardians

I noticed that Guardians only have two weapon skills: Maces and one-hand swords. Basically Guardians are "stuck" with only one viable form of fighting: Single-handed weapon and shield. However, two-handed swords are also reasonable defensive weapons. I think Guardians should have that skill, rather than the Furies who should be able to fight well with hammers and axes, instead.

Well, I think they were trying to make some "separation" of weapon specialization of all classes (except mages who mostly will use a staff), so the most logical way of dividing was single handed + shield for guardians, and all other stronger offensive weapons for fury warriors.

I understand why they did it, but I think this leaves these classes not versatile enough. Warriors should have a good choice of weapons, and unfortunately as it stands now Guardians have very little versatility.

That is absolutely true if you look just at weapons - warriors can specialize in almost anything and guardians can choose only one handed sword (I dont even consider mace, I have not even seen a mace yet in the shops or found one). However, guardians have also shield and armor bonus skills, which I see as a "part of the package" which is to reinforce the idea that they are indeed towers of defense... I mean, I would like to see more versatility as well, but I dont know how this can be achieved without interfering with the roles they have assigned to the two specializations.

One thing I find for sure - you must decide from entire beginning what you want to be and stick with that weapon. I have always used one handed sword and now my only chance was to become guardian, I dont want to lose my 8% weapon proficienty to become fury warrior...

I think all those clubs belongs to the maces category.

i found very nice club(mace category). only thing i dont like is -20 dex. because it has much better dame+age then 1h sword.
And they put 2 - handed sword to furry warrior because its 2 handed + nice damage. because defender will just try to have big armor, which forces him to use shield.
for example furry warrior have dual wield, and he has no proficiency with 1 handed weapons. which is also strange, unless he will be able to wield 2 two-hander after certain lvl.  or dual-wield will suit defender much better due to proficiencies with 1-hander.

Longswords have a block bonus, so, especially for guardians, the two-handed sword mastery might give a bonus to the block of the weapon (though it will be the players choice whether to go for the medium-blocking and more powerful THsword OR specialise in supershield masteries and resort only to "weaker" weapons).

What exactly do you mean by a "block bonus" ? I am using a one handed sword and it also has a block (probably lower than two handed) but still ... as a guardian I think I can profit of it if I choose one handed sword mastery

I think he meant, that TH-sword mastery for the Guardian could increase the weapon's Block rather than its damage. That seems like a good idea

By the way I am deeply dissappointed by playing a warrior, I think I am about the only idiot in the realm to be playing with one handed sword and trying hard too, everyone else has got this huge hammer and is smashing left and right with it, a few men also chose two handed swords, but I am seriously disappointed at the guardian skills ! Something needs to be done about it, for sure.

P.P.S. I still refuse to play those chicks in the short skirts !
