After renewal things got lost

Im sorry if this topic already exists but i didnt have the time to check everything all day.

Me and my friend are both armorsmiths and every proper armor obviosly has a shield. Now, neither of us have shield recipes not in tier 1 or in 2. What happened to them and who does them now?
Also three of my mercs who were in tier 2 but below level 10 went back to tier 1 and i have to upgrade them all over again even tho they are wearing tier 2 armors and weapons.

I understand the mercs tier thing but WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SHIELDS!?
Me as a person who doesnt let money go so easily wants my money back! If a mercs upgrade costs 400 why should i pay double? And those shield recipes also cost!

On July 6th, 2010 the following gameplay changes in IH will take place:

1. Upon hiring Town Guard, in the equipment screen the mercenaries' properties (class, skills and attributes) will be displayed.
2. Base prices of Healers located in the No Man's Lands' Towns will be lower than those of the NPC shops.
3. An option will be added which will allow the mercenaries' properties (equipment, attributes, skills) to be displayed in the statistics, if the hero chooses so.
4. The castle managers will be able to heal all Town Guards Squads simultaneously.
5. Guilds will be able to merge.
6. All the shields will now be crafted by the Weaponsmiths.
/If you have valuable shield recipes, you are urged to craft them as soon as possible or hand them to a friend or a fellow guildsman who is a Weaponsmith!/
7. New sets containing shields and weapons will be added.
8. Crafting Recipes Durability will be deployed, which will be categorized as fallows:
X4 - 200 Durability (Levels 14, 24, 34, 44, 54 and so on)
X6 - 100 Durability (Levels 16, 26, 36, 46, 56 and so on)
X8 - 50 Durability (Levels 18, 28, 38, 48, 58 and so on)
Identical recipes can be merged. Meaning - if you have a memorized recipe with 43 Durability left and you "feed" you recipe book with the same recipe with Durability 100, the new recipe in your book will have 143 Durability.
There is no limit for the memorized recipes' Durability.

9. Marina Haven Province in Karaganda will accept its first visitors from continental Ayarr. The province is under Imperial Control. No fighting between heroes allowed.

10. Some of the items that are given as rewards from the support Story Lines will not be repairable and will vanish after their Durability reaches 0.

11. Ghost Stalkers will now be able to use two Throwing Knives as Dual Wield, as long as they have a point in the "Dual Wield" skill. All throwing knives will now decrease their damage by half after 15 shots are made with them.

Regarding your first problem:

That was announced 1 week before.
At no. 6 it says that shields will be crafted by weapon crafters instead of armor ones. Also it states clear: "/If you have valuable shield recipes, you are urged to craft them as soon as possible or hand them to a friend or a fellow guildsman who is a Weaponsmith!/"

Mercenaries Issue Fixed    2010-06-30 14:47:38
Due to Team oversight with the mercenaries' logic, the latter could pass into the next Tier without having the necessary levels.
As of today the mercenaries must have the necessary level, just like the heroes, in order to be upgraded into the next Tier.
All the mercenaries who don't have the required level will be demoted into their real Tier.
Mercenaries equipped with higher Tier items will be able to keep them. If you choose to remove such equipment from your mercenaries you won't be able to put it back until your mercenary meets the requirements.

So...your mercs will enter next Tier only after you pass to next Tier. If they are already in next one, they will be demoted to your Tier level. They can keep equipment, but if you remove it, you can not put it back until they reenter in next Tier.

Your learned shield recipes.....are lost :(

Exactly, it is suggested to read both in-game news and forum announcements to avoid such surprises...
